An afternoon run to Kitt Peak anytime of the year will put a smile on your face. High elevation, winding road to the top. If you are a star gazer, try the night tour. There are 26 telescopes on Kitt Peak. Go west on Ajo Way (Hwy 86 to 386) from I-19 one mile south of the I-10 and I-19 interchange. turn west on Ajo Way Take a picnic lunch and turn off at the primitive, not maintained picnic area or get soft drinks and water at the gift shop at the top of the Peak. You can walk the campus of telescopes during the day, but BE QUIET as the astronomers are sleeping so they can observe the heavens at night.
