Globe/Miami, AZ. This is a nice day trip if you live in the Phoenix Metro area, especially the East Valley or Tucson. These are mining towns with a rich history, much like that of Bisbee, Douglas, Morenci or their sister cities on the Iron Range of Northern MN, like Ely, Calumet, Hibbing, Aurora, Eveleth, Biwabik, Greenway/Coleraine. These American mining towns were funded by many of the same industrial magnates and their famous names (Oliver Sibley, Ely, Conan, White, Crosby, James J. Hill, Robinson, Greenway, Longyear, Kinney as an example) are found on buildings, streets and mines through out these relics of the Late Great America.
