The Sonora Chapter of BMW CCA organized a tour to Sierra Vista, on Dec 7th 2008, lunch at La Casita, a wonderfully appointed Mexican Restaurant on Fry Blvd. Then a visit to Fort Huachuca to view The 18th Annual Holiday Tour of the Old Post Historic Homes in the old post section. This event is organized by the Fort Huachuca Community Spouses’ Club. Twelve homes, built in the early 1880’s and restored as officers quarters. The homes were open for four hours and decorated for Christmas by the current occupants. The officers and their families were very gracious hosts. The home holiday decor, the interesting collections of artifacts and memoirs that the families have gathered when posted in foreign nations were very special to view and enjoy. Our group had a great time and we met some great folks. God Bless the US Army and the very special people who serve us. Colonel Perkins tried to talk us out of the Z3 in exchange for the family mini-van, but no deal was made. A great time was had by all. Thanks to Ross Lampert, Hereford and Mike Hornisher (who once resided in the Carr House) for setting up the fabulous day for the BMW CCA Sonora Chapter members.
